Lisa Creagh's use of digital manipulation to create this crown of flowers is done with a light hand, never overwhelming its natural beauty. Against the black background the feisty carmine and gentle pink of the petals have an inviting edge to them.
About the Artist:
Lisa Creagh graduated from Goldsmiths in 1994, and more recently, with a Masters in Photography from Brighton University. Between 1997 and 2001 she lived and worked as an artist in New York. In 2003 she cofounded The Brighton Photo Fringe.
Her work has often been collaborative in nature: as a producer and curator she has delivered large-scale photographic projects for international artists and delivered talks at various colleges. In 2006 she received critical acclaim for the originality of ‘Tidy Street’ where she collaborated with residents to transform a street in Brighton in to a series of lightboxes utilizing the windows of small terraced houses.
'The Instant Garden', begun in 2008 was awarded a development grant by The Arts Council of England in 2010 and is still exhibited widely. It is featured in a book by Phaidon on the subject of art and botany.
Her new work, Holding Time has been exhibited several times in 2018 and has attracted the attention of hospitals, health practitioners and medical researchers, featuring in this years IBCLC and LCGB conferences.
